Located only a few blocks away from Fudan University, FIS students enjoy an academic and cultural atmosphere. Our campus is across the street from the local High School Affiliated to Fudan University, which has superb laboratory, arts, and athletic facilities that FIS students can use as well.

Library
HSAFU has three reading rooms in the library with seating capacity of 400 students in an area of over 1000 square meters. The library, which won the title "Shanghai High School and Primary School Demonstration Library", has a large collection of books and audiovisual materials. It is also an outreach branch of Shanghai Library's national information sharing center. FIS has its own English language library and our students also have access to Fudan University Library's reading room.

Internet Access
Classrooms and the FIS library are equipped with wireless internet access and projectors so teachers can use multimedia and students can easily conduct research. Students can access Fudan University Intranet resources through the HSAFU computer lab and multimedia reading room.

Science
HSAFU has the following labs: English listening comprehension lab, TV studio, digital music studio, personal radio lab, electricity lab, college physics lab, college mechanics lab, college molecular biology lab, organism incubator, biological anatomy digital interactive lab, animal specimen lab, organic chemistry lab, inorganic chemistry lab and chemistry analysis lab.

The astronomical observatory covers an area of 135 square meters. Its advanced astronomical instruments, which cost over 200 thousands RMB, come out top among high schools in Shanghai. It is where young astronomy fans gain knowledge and make discoveries.

Arts
HSAFU has the following specialty rooms for art education: a calligraphy room, a music classroom equipped with pianos, televisions and hi-fi systems, a drawing room, a pottery room, 4 piano practice rooms, and an orchestral music room.

Athletics
There is a 400-meter standard track and a natural grass soccer field. Facilities that students can use include; ping-pong room, weight room, gymnastics room and an indoor basketball & volleyball gym, and dance studios.

Student Lounge
This summer, FIS is constructing a student lounge on the first floor beside our library. The student lounge will be a comfortable place for students to gather and relax after school. It will have ping pong tables, couches, work tables, and a TV.
