In order to graduate from FIS, a student must meet the graduation requirements outlined below. These requirements are meant to serve merely as a minimum standard. Students interested in attending college should strive to meet the credit requirements in the right-hand column below.

1. ESL students may earn up to three English credits through their ESL classes; the fourth credit must be in mainstream English at the level of English 11 or higher.
2. In Math, students must complete a course equivalent to geometry and a course equivalent to algebra II.
3. In Science, one credit is required in each of the following topics: biology, chemistry, and physics.
4. In Social Studies, three credits of history are required.
5. In Physical Education, three credits are required for PE and one credit is required for health.
6. *For World Language requirements, if the student can show proficiency in the area via AP test (grades 4 or 5) or HSK intermediate level, s/he will be exempt from continuing on the specific language course
7. In exceptional cases, a student may petition the Headmaster and Directors to waive or substitute a requirement.
8. One credit is earned for the successful completion of each full-year class.
9. A minimum of one full semester attendance is required to be eligible for an FIS diploma.
10. Graduation must take place prior to a student’s twenty-first birthday.
