Community Service

Serving the community allows students to gain awareness of and contribute to the world around them, and become more caring and active leaders in the society. Fudan International School requires 90 hours of community service. The following adjustments will be made as this requirement is phased in over the next 3 years. It is highly recommended that students complete this requirement by the end of grade 11.

2009 Graduates – 15 hours     2010 Graduates – 45 hours
2011 Graduates – 75 hours     2012 and beyond – 90 hours

CereCare Wellness Center for Children
A live-in center providing physical rehabilitation and education to children with cerebral palsy.

Heart to Heart

Provides English lessons for 200 migrant students every Saturday morning.

Roots and Shoots – The Jane Goodall Institute
Environmental and humanitarian volunteer program for youth, started by primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall. Projects include tree planting trips to Inner Mongolia, recycling programs at school and in the city, and Anhui poverty alleviation trips. Students are encouraged to design and run their own projects.
