Michael Sawyer comes to FIS from Los Angeles, California. He graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's in Political Science. When asked why he chose to be an educator, he said: "As a student, I can remember a few (out of many) teachers that really motivated and inspired me... those are the teachers who I learned from the most. Not just on a student-teacher level, but on a person-person level as well. I believe that teachers have so much more to offer than just the subject at hand, and those memorable teachers taught me lessons that will serve me throughout my whole life. That's what I drive to be: a teacher that can give knowledge to my students that will serve them long after they leave my class.
