Volume 1 Issue 6

Dear Parents,

In order to advance the development of Fudan International School and improve the efficiency and communication among all departments, we have decided to make some organizational and personnel adjustments at our school.

There are now two directors supervised by the principal of FIS. The Director of Administration, Mr. Jack Chang, is responsible for administration, human resources, and logistics. The Director of Academic and International Affairs, Mr. Peter Shon, is in charge of curriculum, teacher deployment, student affairs, and education. The Director of Academic Affairs also supervises the work of Mr. Greg Carlson, who is now the coordinator of the AP program and curriculum development. Furthermore, Mr. William Deacon, under the guidance of both directors, fills the role of WASC Program Coordinator and arranges the relevant work of each department to meet WASC standards.

We are expecting more partial restructuring in the next two months and will keep you updated of such changes. I believe these adjustments will not only help us provide you and your children with better service, but also strengthen our school’s status as a WASC accreditation candidate.

Best,

Wu Xiaoxin
Principal of FIS

Dear Parents and Students,

I am humbled by the decision of our leadership to give me the opportunity to fill the role of Director of Academic and International Affairs. I believe that Fudan International School has a wonderful opportunity to grow like no other school in the area.

I assure you that our main objective in both the short and long term will be to focus on our core competence and to raise our standards of academic excellence and student life quality at FIS. Our focus on maintaining our school’s role as an important entity in our immediate society and on fulfilling its role in producing responsible global citizens is unwavering.

Thank you for entrusting your children with us and continuing your partnership as our main stakeholder.

Sincerely,

Peter Shon

Director of Academics and International Affairs
